Madhwa(1238-1317), a great indian philosopher postulates that the sense organs have to be in alignment if a person has to function at his best.Taking a clue from his postulates, I humbly suggest the following solution:
In the case of a schizophrenic, the mind projects itself in front of the eye,the ear,the nose.Hence, the realistic experience which the three sense organs perceive is blocked like a cataract or a screen. This is not a physical block but a phenomenological block with tremendous storage of impressions.Hence the"halluccinations".If treatment is to be attempted ,the realistic perceptions have to be impressed on the patients since Madhwa calls this type of inputting realistic knowledge as "yatartha".Calling a spade,a spade;seeing a spade a spade;hearing a spade a spade and smelling a spade as a spade will make the cart behind the horse. The entire problem is the cart called the mind is not an insentinent object but a phenomenological reality which has to be shown its place in perceptual interactions just like a director behind the screen. The play called life will be more meaningful.
